Call for Applications: FY27 FTA 5310 Community Grant Funding
Applications accepted through May 3, 2026.
Wave Transit offers an annual opportunity for nonprofits, local government, and private providers of public transportation to apply for grant funding to support transportation projects for people age 65 and over and people with disabilities. Community Grants are funded through FTA Section 5310 funds.

Application and Project Selection Schedule
The 5310 Call for Projects and project selection will adhere to the following schedule:
April 2, 2026: First day to submit application for 5310 funds
May 3, 2026: Last day to submit application for 5310 funds
End of June 2026: Applicants notified of selection
July 1, 2026: Funding available
What is Wave Connect?
Wave Connect is a program with four initiatives that help Make Public Transportation Available to All.
1.Travel Training
- Education for individuals and groups on how to use the Wave Transit system.
2. Dial-A-Ride (DART) , Accessible Van Service
- Public transportation for individuals with disabilities that cannot travel by fixed route bus. Service is provided through the Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) program.
3. Fixed Route Bus Access
- Resources in alternate formats, ADA improvements to bus stops, and other measures intended to create greater opportunity and access to fixed route bus service for persons with disabilities and the general public.
4. Community Outreach
- Participation in community events, collaboration with local groups, an annual grant opportunity, and active social media platforms keep customers informed of available transportation and help to make sure transportation services reflect the needs of our community.
