Shuttle FAQ

Can anyone ride the Shuttles?
Although the shuttles run on and around the UNCW campus, they are considered public routes and available for anyone to ride.  UNCW students pay a fee to the university which allows them to ride without paying a fare every time they board.  Non-students riding the shuttle are required to pay the regular Wave Transit fare.

Where does the UNCW Seahawk Shuttle go?
The Seahawk Shuttle provides public transportation to the UNCW campus.  The route is available to anyone.  Wave operates seven different routes that stop at designated shuttle stops on and around the UNCW campus. All shuttle route maps are available here on our website. .

How do I get on?
Shuttle stops are marked by UNCW Seahawk Shuttle signs. Arrive at any designated shuttle bus stop five minutes before the shuttle is scheduled to arrive. Have your UNSea card ready when you board the bus.

How much does it cost?
Students and employees of UNCW may ride all Wave Transit buses, as well as the Seahawk Shuttle, for free by simply showing a valid student or employee UNSea card.  Non-UNCW students and employees are required to deposit the two dollar adult fare upon boarding the shuttle.  Reduced fares are also accepted on shuttle vehicles.  See the fares page for detailed reduced rates.

How do I get off the Seahawk Shuttle?
When your stop is approaching, pull the overhead cord to indicate to the bus driver that you would like to get off at the next stop.

When does Seahawk Shuttle service run?
The shuttle routes run Monday-Friday 7:00 am-5:30 pm while classes are in session, during fall and spring semesters, and on a limited schedule during summer school. The shuttle does not run on weekends. Please refer to the schedule page for an exact schedule for your route.
